Ahead of the Positive Innovation Award, which will be received during the week of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, on 15-16 June 2024, Ferrari has received Three-Star level certification within the FIA Environmental Accreditation Framework programme.

The FIA Environmental Committee awarded this major certification to Ferrari – Ente Endurance and Corse Clienti for the Ferrari – AF Corse team’s involvement in the top class of the World Endurance Championship. The award was based on the adoption of a management system to stimulate every short-, medium-, and long-term action to reduce the team’s environmental impacts and measure its social and economic effects.

These actions involve several areas: from the internal waste collection system in Team Hospitality to the creation of spaces for guests taking part in track events that encourage walking; from the use of digital tools such as the “MyFerrari App” for communication during FIA WEC events to eliminating the use of paper; to the optimisation of transport and logistics and the reuse of materials for trackside set-ups.

It is essential that Ferrari’s buildings and facilities, such as the headquarters of Endurance and Customer Racing, are at the cutting-edge in terms of environmental impact, where sustainability involves optimising resources used in every area, including air conditioning and lighting systems.

The Ferrari Group has defined the team’s Sustainable Development Policy in endurance racing, integrating it with the five pillars of the Maranello manufacturer’s sustainability strategy and product and process interventions and innovations.

The Three-Star level certification follows the renewal of the ISO 20121 certification in April 2024, the international standard for sustainable event design and management, particularly for participation in the Hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship. TÜV NORD Italia issues the certification. The Ferrari LMH Team first received this certification in April 2023.

Alessandra Todeschini, Head of Ferrari Endurance and Pista di Fiorano: We are proud to have received the Three-Star level certification of the FIA Environmental Accreditation Framework programme, an achievement that certifies our constant efforts to minimise the environmental impact of our activities.

This is a very important accreditation, on top of those received in recent months, including ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event design and management for the Ferrari team participating in the Hypercar class of the FIA WEC.

These results strengthen our belief in the quality of the projects in progress and those we are working on with the future in mind, goals that only be achieved with the cooperation of our entire team.
