Sabelt is a global leader in the development and production of seats for road and racing sports cars, seatbelts for the automotive and the aerospace market and technical clothing for drivers and mechanics. The quality of Sabelt products is the result of intense research and development, which allows it to reach the highest levels of performance and safety. Sabelt is the only company in its sector to have an internal dynamic test laboratory to perform ECE and FIA tests, aimed at verifying the strength and effectiveness of its products.
The collaboration with Ferrari, which began in the 70s, is based on the continuous search for innovation, safety and design of its products.
Thanks to innovative solutions in terms of structure and components and to the introduction of new materials, the overall weight of the Sabelt F1 seatbelts used by Scuderia Ferrari passed from nearly 1 kg to around 500 gr weight. Besides being lighter, modern F1 seatbelts must observe more severe safety regulations. For examples, they must guarantee a superior mechanical resistance (due to the 2016 FIA 8853 rule). Finally, to allow drivers to maximize performances, Sabelt seatbelts are designed to guarantee comfort. That's why the triangular buckle has a higher center of gravity, to squash the driver's pelvis less.
