Davide Rigon

He subsequently won the Italian Formula Renault, Italian Formula 3 and Formula Azzurra titles. In 2007, he triumphed in the Euroseries 3000 with six wins, seven podiums, four pole positions and eight fastest laps. Then, the following year, in the GT2 class, he also took part in the FIA GT championship for BMS Scuderia Italia, triumphing in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Again in the same season, he won the Superleague Formula. Thanks to these victories in 2008, he joined the Trident team in GP2, competing in the last three stages of the GP2 Asia series and mounting the podium in Sepang.

In 2013, he helped the 8 Stars Motorsport team to glory in the GTE Am category of the World Endurance Championship, while in 2014, he raced in the GTE-Pro series in AF Corse’s second car paired with the British James Calado. The pair achieved five podium finishes, making a decisive contribution to Ferrari’s conquest of the Manufacturers’ title. Rigon received the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award at the end of the season. In 2015, still together with Calado, he competed in the WEC in Ferrari no. 71 of AF Corse, securing second place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He mounted the podium three more times, finishing fourth in the drivers’ championship.

Since 2016, he has competed in the WEC at the wheel of the Ferrari 488 GTE no. 71 alongside Sam Bird, with whom he has recorded four overall wins so far. In 2018, Rigon raced in the FIA WEC Super Season with the 488 GTE of AF Corse, in the Blancpain Endurance with Molina and Mikhail Aleshin and contested some races in the IMSA with Risi Competizione, in Asia with HubAuto Corsa and in the ADAC GT Masters with the 488 GT3 of HB Racing.

In 2019 and 2020, continuing in the WEC, Davide also stayed with Scuderia Ferrari as a simulator driver. Over the years, he has distinguished himself in this role with his professionalism and commitment. For the past two years, he has continued to drive the virtual Formula 1 car and compete on the track in GT competitions. In 2021, Rigon focused on the GT World Challenge Europe programme racing for Iron Lynx along with rookie Callum Ilott and Antonio Fuoco. The season of the driver from Thiene was interrupted by an accident in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps from which he has fully recovered. Back on the track for the last race of the Italian GT Championship, Davide kicked off 2022 by winning the 4 Hours of Dubai in the Asian Le Mans Series with Rinaldi Racing and finishing second in the legendary Daytona 24 Hours at the wheel of Risi Competizione’s 488 GT3 Evo 2020. 

Davide Rigon claimed his first career title in America, in the IMSA Endurance Cup, alongside Daniel Serra. The Italian enjoyed a successful season in GT World Challenge Europe and European le Mans Series (ELMS). 

David also racked up a huge mileage at the wheel of the 296 GT3 and the 499P.

In 2023, he will also race in GT events on several fronts in the 296 GT3, as well as continuing his role as Development Driver for Scuderia Ferrari.
