FDA - Maisano misses out on title on a sub judice weekend
Maranello, 21 October – The final round of the Italian Formula 3 European Series and the Italian Formula 3 Championship took place this weekend at Monza. However, the titles have not been handed out, as all decisions are now pending appeals made by some teams. At the time of writing, the stewards are carrying out checks, however any eventual penalties are unlikely to affect the top of the points table, with the European title safely in the hands of Eddie Cheever (Prema) and the national one going to the rookie Riccardo Agostini (JD Motorsport.) This weekend at Monza, the FDA student Brandon Maisano finished the Sprint Race, the third of the weekend, in fourth place, having performed well in all the races. Maisano was in the running for the national title right down to the end, even if it was a tough call after he came second in Race 2 and before that only seventh in Race 1, as a result of colliding with another competitor. So, it was a somewhat disappointed Maisano come the end of the weekend, given that he’d hoped to lift the championship title, having been a front runner all season long.
