No surprises

The result of today’s qualifying? Well, it wasn’t a cold shower. After two consecutive poles and Fernando’s exciting success in Hockenheim last Sunday, we always kept our feet on the ground: although the F2012 improved a lot over the season, we know that we still don’t have the single-seater, which has to be beaten by the others. We know that we have to keep on working. Sixth and seventh starting position for Fernando and Felipe don’t come as a surprise. We already understood yesterday that some cars don’t feel too well on this track.
Having said that, there are also positive aspects in this afternoon’s outcome: Fernando’s direct competitor in the Championship, the Australian Mark Webber, will start from eleventh position tomorrow. Felipe will start from a good position, where he can help his teammate, trying to catch some points from his competitors.
Furthermore there are many unknown factors regarding tomorrow’s race, starting with the tyres: just as it happened in Silverstone and in Germany, the weather didn’t allow the teams to rate the tyres on the long run. It’s always the rain. And exactly the rain could show up during the 70 laps on the Hungaroring tomorrow. And we’re talking about a track, which doesn’t give any discounts. The men and women from the Scuderia – as always – will try to give their best.
