THE LEGO Technic Ferrari FXX K IS GO

Words: Ben Barry

The Ferrari FXX K is a rolling laboratory – a hybrid supercar whose extreme performance is engineered for the racetrack and gives owners the opportunity to become client test drivers. Now the new LEGO Technic FXX K model offers fans aged 10 and up the chance to explore the 1050 cv supercar’s innovative engineering and experience its moving functions in miniature.

Consisting of 849 individual pieces and measuring 29 centimetres in length, the downsized FXX K’s authentic features include functional butterfly doors, an opening front hood and engine cover, moveable rear winglets and even realistic powertrain details.

Engineering details of the LEGO Technic FXX K extend to its crankshaft, pistons, differential and functional butterfly doors

For ease of assembly, the kit is supplied in six numbered bags and includes a manual featuring a clearly labelled colour parts list and step-by-step instructions. The LEGO Builder app can also be used to guide the building experience.

The build begins with the chassis, to which the two seats and even a functional steering rack are attached. Behind the cockpit, the naturally aspirated V12 engine comes to life piece-by-piece – crankshaft first, then 12 tiny pistons are inserted into their bores and a differential with toothed gears installed to drive the rear axle. Rotate the rear wheels and the gears turn and pistons dance in their bores, just as they do in the real car.

Once the final bodywork and authentic stickers are in place, the full potential of the LEGO Technic FXX K is ready to be experienced. Even better, each model comes with an exclusive redeemable code to unlock the LEGO Technic Ferrari FXX K in video game Asphalt Legends Unite.

The Ferrari FXX K joins the LEGO Technic range alongside the Daytona SP3, F40 and a Ferrari Formula 1 car – available now from LEGO Stores and online. Your Ferrari engineering adventure can start here!
