The Ferrari Owners Club of New Zealand was founded in 1986 by a group of enthusiastic racers who originally wanted to create a Ferrari register. We still have 5 of the original founding members active in the club. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength and we look forward to celebrating our 35th Anniversary in 2021.
The club continues to grow and today our membership stands at 260 plus partners.
New Zealand has a proud tradition in motor sport with Chris Amon driving for Ferrari during the 1967 and 1968 F1 seasons. Our 1967 F1 World Champion Denny Hulme and of course Bruce McLaren another great Kiwi motor sport star. In recent times there is Scott Dixon, 5 times Indy Champion, Brendon Hartley was a F1 simulator driver for Scuderia Ferrari and currently we have Ferrari Academy driver Marcus Armstrong.
Our club is split into 3 regions, Wellington, South Island and Auckland.
New Zealand has a wonderful landscape and which is accessible from each region.
Our weekend drives normally take advantage of exploring our wonderful country.
Other club events include supporting local car shows, movie nights, garage raids, long weekends away along scenic country roads these events culminate with socialising at a winery or restaurant.
The annual Ferrari Club AGM is held every March at various locations around New Zealand which sees a gathering of 150 members plus about 70 Ferraris.
We produce a club magazine twice a year and more recently have created a TV show, Rivista TV, which features club members garages. Normally there is a garage from each region and a light hearted look at a club members daily driver.
Our charity of choice is The New Zealand Child Cancer Foundation.
At each Ferrari Club AGM we hold an auction and to date have raised over $100,000 for the Foundation.
During the year each region club members offer rides in their Ferraris for Child Cancer Patients and their families, this is an event that is widely supported by the Ferrari Owners Club of New Zealand.
