Titles decided in Australia after Race 1 at The Bend

Tailem Bend 06 September 2025

The season finale of Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Australasia is off to an exciting start at The Bend in South Australia with two championship winners decided in the opening race.

Suited to both the 296 Challenge and 488 Challenge Evo models raced in the inaugural season of Ferrari Challenge Australasia, The Bend is a difficult layout to master.

This didn’t stop two out of three class titles being wrapped up by their protagonists with a race to spare, allowing the winning drivers to bask in their achievement entering the final day of competition.

Trofeo Pirelli. Antoine Gittany (Ferrari Sydney) made a strong start to open up a gap ahead of his class rivals and secure a critical victory in Race 1 after entering the final event on equal points with Jim Pollicina (Ferrari Sydney) in second place.

Gittany was unchallenged for the class win as Cameron Campbell (Ferrari Richmond) split the title contending duo by taking second place, with Pollicina rounding out the podium in third.

After a sensational drive from ninth on the grid, the returning Rod Wilson (Ferrari Richmond) was fourth in class from Mark Hudders (Ferrari Sydney) in fifth.

Coppa Shell. It was another dominant performance from Enzo Cheng (Ferrari Sydney) as he sealed the Coppa Shell championship in style, taking a brilliant outright victory from pole position.

Aemel Nordin (Ferrari Adelaide) took a well-earned second place at his home track ahead of Masahiro Taguchi (Ferrari Brisbane) and David Trewern (Ferrari Gold Coast), who were in close proximity during the closing stages.

Rounding out the top five was David Frish (Ferrari Sydney) as he locked away fourth in the title chase.

Trofeo Pirelli 488. Even though the title was decided coming into the final round, Misho Stephan (Ferrari Sydney) couldn’t be stopped on his run to another victory, despite a late spin.

Debutant Paul Brockbank (Barbagallo Ferrari) finished an impressive second ahead of Baby Kei (Cornes Osaka) to round out the field.

Schedule. The inaugural season of Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Australasia concludes at The Bend tomorrow, Sunday 7 September, with Qualifying 2 at 10:50am and Race 2 at 3:40pm (ACST).
