Polesitters comments from Finali Mondiali at Mugello

Scarperia 25 October 2025

The qualifying sessions for the Finali Mondiali, the final event of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli season, took place on a wet track at the Scarperia circuit, which was once again hit by persistent rain at various points during the day. The 296 Challenge cars are now ready for tomorrow’s races, which will decide the 2025 world champions. We caught up with the polesitters shortly after qualifying.

Vincenzo Scarpetta (Radicci Automobili), Trofeo Pirelli polesitter: “It was a really challenging qualifying session because the weather kept changing, but I’m delighted with the result and I’ll do everything I can to hold onto it in the race. Thanks to everyone.”

David Gostner (CDP-Mp Racing), first in the Trofeo Pirelli Am: “It was a good qualifying for me. I kept improving with every lap, as the track gradually dried. During my final attempt, the track was drier, so I pushed, and the car handled really well. I’m delighted with the result. For the final, you also need a bit of luck. Winning a world title always takes some of that, too.”

Rey Acosta (The Collection), Coppa Shell polesitter: “It was an excellent qualifying session, switching from wet to dry, from rain tyres to slicks. I set my lap, and now I can’t wait to have a good race tomorrow. Hopefully it’ll be dry and the conditions will favour whoever is fastest on track.”

Jan Sandmann (Kessel Racing), Coppa Shell Am polesitter: “Once again, there was a bit of rain during qualifying, but the session went really well. I was a little worried about traffic because there were so many cars on the track, but my team managed it perfectly – so a big thank you to my two coaches and the entire Kessel Racing team. I hope I can achieve exactly the same result in the race.”
