On 2 April 2021, for the first time in its history, the Ferrari Challenge Europe obtained ISO 20121 certification, the international standard for sustainable event management, issued by the certification body TÜV NORD Italia.
It thus became the first European one-make championship certified under the ISO 20121 sustainable event management system. A year later, on 15 March 2022, the Ferrari Challenge was re-certified, ahead of the thirtieth anniversary season of the Prancing Horse one-make series.
The standard applies in the planning and realisation of the Championship. It is a testament to Ferrari SpA – Ente Attività Sportive GT’s commitment to implementing a responsible management system, integrating it with the five pillars of the Ferrari Group’s sustainability strategy.
Environmental, social, and economic impact characteristics were analysed, also to involve and influence all stakeholders (employees, suppliers, circuits, consultants, drivers, teams/dealers, guests, media, sponsors, and the local community).
In continuity with Ferrari SpA’s commitment to sustainable development and its work in 2021, the Ferrari Challenge Europe will continue to implement the principles set out in the ISO 20121 Sustainable Development Policy during the 2022 season.
In addition, Ente Attività Sportive GT wanted to explicitly refer to the broader United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in its sustainability policy.
