296 LMGT3s on track at São Paulo
The 296 LMGT3s took to the track at Interlagos today for the opening two free practice sessions ahead of the 6 Hours of São Paulo, round five of the 2025 FIA WEC. The two sessions lasted a combined three hours.
The Vista AF Corse crews completed 79 and 97 laps, respectively, in the number 54 and 21 cars.
Free Practice 1. The first session ran in the morning in dry, cool conditions, with air and track temperatures of approximately 19°C and 23°C.
The number 54 car was the fastest Ferrari, finishing 10th, piloted by Scuderia Ferrari official driver Davide Rigon, alongside Thomas Flohr and Francesco Castellacci. The crew completed 29 laps, with a best time of 1'35''644.
The number 21 296 LMGT3 crewed by official driver Alessio Rovera, together with François Heriau and Simon Mann, completed 47 laps and finished 16th with a best time of 1’36’’110.
Free Practice 2. At 3.45 p.m., the cars returned to the track for the second session, which lasted one hour and 30 minutes under similar conditions to the morning, with an air temperature of 18°C and the track temperature staying steady at around 23°C.
The number 54 296 LMGT3 posted a best time of 1'35''831 to finish 12th, just ahead of the “sister” number 21 car, which was only six-thousandths of a second slower.
The schedule. On Saturday, 12 July the cars will be on track for the third free session of 60 minutes at 10.10 a.m., followed in the afternoon by the LMGT3 qualifying sessions from 2.45 to 2.57 p.m., and the LMGT3 Hyperpole from 3.05 to 3.15 p.m. On Sunday, 13 July, the green flag for the six-hour race waves at 11.30 a.m. (all times local).
