News from Finali Mondiali paddock

Scarperia 29 October 2025

Another wet edition of the Finali Mondiali followed last year’s rain-soaked event at Imola. But as the saying goes, rain brings good luck. The Mugello circuit once again came alive for five days of pure Ferrari passion – on the track, in the packed stands despite the poor weather, and in the paddock, where the history and achievements of the Prancing Horse were celebrated, including those of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, which crowned the European and North American champions at Scarperia ahead of the world title deciders.

Big numbers. Ferrari’s Tuscan showcase presented a spectacle for 50,000 spectators. Crowds gathered eagerly for an event that featured nearly 250 Prancing Horse cars, both on track and throughout the exhibition area. About 80 vehicles from the non-competitive programmes, including around 50 from the XX Programme, joined the 100 Ferrari 296 Challenge cars competing in the Ferrari Challenge. Over 40 additional cars appeared in the display area, where GT and single-seater models vividly showcased the Maranello-based manufacturer’s racing heritage. Among them were cars exhibited in the special display area and the showroom.

All-star line-up. Ferrari’s official drivers supported the Corse Clienti activities and more than one hundred Ferrari Challenge drivers from 27 countries worldwide. Alongside the FIA WEC competitors – joined this time by number 83 Ferrari 499P drivers Phil Hanson and Robert Kubica – the paddock also welcomed GT drivers including Rovera, Rigon, Neubauer, and Wadoux, together with Ambassadors such as Toni Vilander and Giancarlo Fisichella, and legends Olivier Beretta and Andrea Bertolini, who were among the stars of the Ferrari Show.
The Tifosi were also able to meet and celebrate the Scuderia HP Esports drivers and members of the Ferrari Driver Academy.

Italian champions. The week at Mugello had a distinctly Italian flavour in the Ferrari Challenge. The season finale proved a successful one for the Bel Paese, with a captivating double-win and many podium finishes. In the European series, Manuela Gostner secured victory in the Coppa Shell in the first race of the final round. The South Tyrolean had been chasing that win for years and achieved it in her second season with the Ineco – Reparto Corse RAM team, managed by her new husband Giorgio Sernagiotto. But it was on Sunday that the Italian flag flew highest on the most prestigious podium: young Neapolitan driver Vincenzo Scarpetta (Radicci Automobili), already a race winner this year at Brno, delivered a composed and determined performance on the wet track to claim the Finali Mondiali world title in the Trofeo Pirelli. However, there was more to celebrate: young Luigi Coluccio joined him on the podium in third place, making his return after competing in the Monza and Misano rounds.
Marco Zanasi (Pinetti Motorsport – Motor Service) took third place in the Trofeo Pirelli Am thanks to a decisive overtake on the main straight, while Pino Frascaro (Rossocorsa) claimed his first podium of the season in the Coppa Shell Am – and did so in the most important race of all, the Finale Mondiale – with a spectacular move around the outside through the final corner.

All about Acosta. It was an extraordinary week at Mugello for Rey Acosta. Now in his fifth season in the Ferrari Challenge, the American driver arrived in Tuscany having contested 24 races across the North American and European series in 2025 without a single win to his name. But on the 5-kilometre Scarperia circuit, the driver overcame both the rain and his rivals, claiming back-to-back victories: first in the final North American championship round in the Trofeo Pirelli Am class, and then pole position and the world title in the Coppa Shell.
