Shell, partner of the Ferrari Hypercar programme

Maranello 17 March 2023

Shell is extending its motorsport partnership with Ferrari, supporting the programme of the 499P Hypercar, set to play a starring role in the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship, which begins on Friday, 17 March with the 1000 Miles of Sebring.

Shell’s support for the Ferrari Hypercar programme involves supplying lubricants and coolants developed to optimise performance, reliability and durability. In addition to the potential transfer of technology from the track to the road, the technical and commercial partnership will have a particular focus on sustainability. Ferrari will evaluate the supply of biofuels and other low-carbon solutions with the aim of decarbonising the broader operations of the Ferrari – AF Corse team, starting with logistics and generators.

The 2023 season is a historic occasion, the return to the top class of the World Endurance Championship after half a century, with the two Ferrari 499Ps sporting the Shell logo on their livery. Shell was already in partnership with Scuderia Ferrari in F1, and the Ferrari Challenge single-marque series since 1993. The two crews made up of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, and Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi will therefore be racing for the overall standings in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Ferrari has picked up 9 overall wins and 38 class wins to date.
