On the occasion of the 6 Hours of Imola, round two of the FIA WEC 2024, Ferrari has successfully renewed its ISO 20121 certification, which pertains to the international standard for sustainable event design and management, for participation in the World Endurance Championship in the Hypercar class. The certification is issued by TÜV NORD Italia.

The Ferrari LMH Team obtained the ISO 20121 certification for the first time in April 2023, on the occasion of the second event of the FIA WEC 2023, in the season that saw the return of Prancing Horse to the top class of endurance racing after half a century.

With this background, the Ferrari Group went on to define the team’s Sustainable Development Policy, integrating it into the five pillars of the Ferrari Group’s sustainability strategy, as well as product and process interventions and innovations.

One of the initiatives undertaken by the Ferrari LMH Team for the 2024 season is the selection of a water supplier for the team's Hospitality area, chosen based on their dedication to environmental sustainability and social projects. Each bottle purchased, made from recycled plastic, signifies a pledge to deliver 100 litres of drinking water to diverse communities across the globe. This commitment is realised through projects aimed at constructing aqueducts and access points, particularly in regions of Africa and South America.

In addition to the water sustainability efforts, the Ferrari LMH Team's commitment for the 2024 season extends to the introduction of a beekeeping initiative aimed at enhancing local biodiversity by installing two beehives – made from ecological materials and managed by social cooperatives – in a protected area of the local territory. Through this endeavour, approximately 100,000 bees will be safeguarded.

Ferrari S.p.A. – Endurance and Corse Clienti has adopted a sustainable management system for the team participating in the FIA WEC to incentivise every action over the short, medium and long term, with the aim of reducing its environmental impact whilst, at the same time, enhancing the social and economic benefits produced by the team.

The Ferrari LMH Team achievements follow on from those obtained by the Ferrari Challenge Europe in 2021, becoming the first European single-marque series to receive the aforementioned certification, a commitment then continued and implemented in 2022 and 2023, with the granting of the new certifications in accordance with the principles set out in the ISO 20121 Sustainable Development Policy. Ferrari and AF Corse, furthermore, in June 2022, on the occasion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, were awarded the Sustainable Endurance Award, the recognition rewarding sustainability-linked programmes, undertaken by Manufacturers and Teams participating in the FIA WEC.
