One hour into the 6 Hours of Portimão, round two of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Ferrari 499P number 50 held sixth position while the number 51 Hypercar lay in seventh after both cars made their first pit stops when the two crews were third and fourth, respectively.

James Calado got off to an excellent start in the Algarve at 12 p.m. in sunny conditions, gaining two positions to take second place behind the first Toyota. The British driver defended his position until lap six, when the number 51 Hypercar dropped to third, ahead of the number 50 car of Ferrari – AF Corse, with Nicklas Nielsen driving the first stint.

After starting from third on the grid, the Dane was fifth in the early stages due to traffic at the first corner. He then made up ground until he overtook his teammate when both Prancing Horse Hypercars were trailing the two Japanese cars.
