Race-1 winners’ comments at Mugello Ferrari Challenge North America
The penultimate race of the series delivered the first result: Massimo Perrina claimed the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli North America crown, clinching the title in the best way possible, with a Race-1 victory at Mugello. As in the European round, rain persisted throughout the day, affecting the races. After the podium ceremony, we spoke to the winners in the various classes.
In the Trofeo Pirelli, Massimo Perrina (Ferrari of Seattle) celebrated the title with another victory: “It’s truly special to be able to call myself the North American champion, and I can’t wait to race in the Final on Sunday to prove my worth against all the other drivers.”
Rafael Duran (The Collection) was first over the line in the Trofeo Pirelli Am: “It’s absolutely fantastic: I’ve taken my first victory, and it’s come during Finali Mondiali week.”
In the Coppa Shell, Yahn Bernier (Ferrari of Seattle) took the win: “I managed to make my way through the traffic, overtaking my main championship rival. We’ve still got one race left; we’ll see how things go tomorrow.”
In the Coppa Shell Am, Melissa Kozyra (Ferrari of Naples) claimed her first win of the season. “It was crazy. You couldn't see anything on the main straight.”
