Race-1 winners’ comments at Mugello Ferrari Challenge Europe

Scarperia 23 October 2025

On the second-to-last day of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe season, the weather played a crucial role in every race on the programme. Heavy rain made the track very slippery, resulting in several contacts and off-track excursions and prompting multiple Safety Car deployments. We spoke with the leading drivers shortly after they stepped off the podium to hear their immediate reactions.

In the Trofeo Pirelli, Bjorn Grossmann (B.I. Corse - Octane126) claimed the top step of the podium. “I’m absolutely delighted to be here. It was a really strange race, and it was hard to stay focused all the way to the finish.”

In the Trofeo Pirelli Am, victory went to Andrew Morrow (Charles Hurst), who started from pole position: “The overall win would have been fantastic, but I’m happy with first place in my class,” said the 2023 Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli UK champion. “It was hard to find the right rhythm because there were so many interruptions with the Safety Car coming out, and we had to deal with four or five restarts.”

Commenting on the weather conditions, Coppa Shell winner Ernst Kirchmayr (Kessel Racing) said: “Racing at Mugello in these conditions is really, really difficult. I’m delighted with the win – I stayed focused, and the team helped me a lot, as did my coach Giacomo Altoè, who was a huge support.”

In Coppa Shell Am, victory went to Andrea Levy. “It was a very challenging race. I’m delighted with this win here at Mugello, on a very wet weekend,” he said.
