Ferrari Challenge Looks Ahead to Laguna Seca

Maranello 11 September 2025

While several single-make Ferrari Challenge series around the world have reached their conclusion for 2025, Ferrari Challenge North America sees its own year come to a close at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca prior to Finali Mondiali in October.

Final Race in North America.

Laguna Seca marks the last of six races for Ferrari Challenge in North America this year, before the 296 Challenge racecars head to Finali Mondiali, scheduled in Mugello from October 21 – 26.

However, the Northern California circuit will be an integral stop on the calendar. The event could all but solidify championship winners, or bring title rivals even closer together to decide their fate in Italy. A closer look paints the picture for each class.

With five consecutive wins, Massimo Perrina (Ferrari of Seattle) has a fierce grip on the Trofeo Pirelli championship. His lead is nearly 50 points over his next closest competitor, Dylan Medler (The Collection).

The championship for the Trofeo Pirelli Am class is less certain. Only 25 points separate Brad Fauvre (Ferrari of San Francisco) and Sebastian Mascaro (Ferrari of Central Florida), with David Musial (Ferrari Lake Forest) following 19 points behind Mascaro. Two drivers – Ofir Levy (Ferrari of Silicon Valley) and Jay Logan (Ferrari of Austin) – are within even closer striking distance to Musial in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Throughout the season, all eyes have been on the head-to-head battle between Coppa Shell drivers Yahn Bernier (Ferrari of Seattle) and Mitchell Green (Ferrari Westlake). That attention remains going into Laguna Seca and Finali Mondiali, as Bernier leads his rival by 11 points. Gary Ott (Ferrari Philadelphia) watches on from third place, fewer than 50 points in arrears of Green in second.

Lastly in Coppa Shell Am, it’s similarly neck-and-neck between Gabe Hrib (Ferrari of Atlanta) and Michael Owens (Ferrari of Alberta). Only 16 points divide the duo, while Louis Flory (Ferrari of Houston) has either won or podiumed in the last five Ferrari Challenge races and sits in third place.

Of this year’s championship contenders, only Perrina was victorious at Laguna Seca in 2024 – winning both races in the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo Trofeo Pirelli class en route to the title.

Back to the West Coast.

Ferrari Challenge’s trip to Laguna Seca is its second appearance in California this year, as Sonoma Raceway hosted the first North America race in March.

The event marks the second consecutive year Ferrari Challenge has returned to the 2.238-mile circuit – which features one of the most famous turn sequences in the world, The Corkscrew and its nearly 10-story drop.

Prior to last year, Ferrari Challenge’s history at Laguna Seca included races from 2017 through 2020, plus visits in 2011, 2012 and 2014.
