Ferrari Challenge looks ahead to 2026 with new Middle East series
Two key developments will define the 2026 Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli season, both announced during the Finali Mondiali held last October at Mugello. The first is the venue for the highly anticipated event that traditionally ends the Corse Clienti season and honours its champions. The second is the debut of a new regional series, which, after a preview event scheduled for February, will run its first season from December 2026 to March 2027.
Spanish Finali. After several editions in Italy, at Misano, Monza, Imola and Mugello, the 2026 Finali Mondiali will move abroad to Barcelona, Spain, from 17 to 23 November. It will be the event’s fourth time in Spain, following the editions held at Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo in 2009, 2010, and 2012. The Finali Mondiali have also taken place outside Italy on two other occasions: in 2014 at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit and, most recently, in 2016 at Daytona International Speedway in the United States.
The 2026 calendars. A busy schedule of events across the international and Regional series will guide drivers and teams towards the Catalan finale. The Ferrari Challenge Europe, celebrating its 34th edition this year, will kick off the season in France at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet from 12 to 15 March, returning to the venue two years after its most recent appearance in July 2024. After the Mugello round from 23 to 26 April, the championship heads to Spielberg in Austria, before the eagerly awaited appearance as a supporting race to the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans from 10 to 13 June. This will mark the sixth time the Ferrari Challenge has featured at Le Mans, most recently at the Centenary edition in 2023, won by the Ferrari 499P.
Two more returns will feature in the build-up to the Barcelona finale: Portimão hosts a race from the 16th to the 19th, followed in September, from the 10th to the 13th, by the Hungaroring in Budapest, which returns to the calendar for the first time since 2022.
The North American series enters its 33rd season with a significant new addition, opening in California at The Thermal Club from 11 to 15 March. The event marks the first appearance of the Prancing Horse’s one-make series championship at the venue. Located 40 km from Palm Springs in California’s Coachella Valley, The Thermal Club is a private racing circuit featuring multiple configurations, with a maximum length of 8 kilometres.
The remaining rounds of the season occur at venues already familiar to the Prancing Horse one-make series: Sebring International Raceway (8-12 April); Circuit of The Americas (13-17 May), WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (17-21 June), Sonoma Raceway (22-26 July) and Road America (9-13 September).
The Regional series. The UK series begins its eighth season, starting alongside the European championship at Le Castellet in France, then crossing the Channel for rounds at Snetterton, Silverstone, Oulton Park, Brands Hatch, and Donington Park. The Ferrari Challenge Japan moves into its fourth season, returning to Okayama, Fuji, and Suzuka, which will host two rounds, along with a new venue at Mobility Resort Motegi.
The second season of the Australasia series again features a five-round calendar, beginning with a preview event alongside the Bathurst 12 Hour on 13 and 14 February. The championship returns to Phillip Island, The Bend and Sydney and will make its first appearance at Queensland Raceway on 20 and 21 June.
Middle East. The new Regional series, the Ferrari Challenge Middle East, was announced during the Finali Mondiali at Mugello and presented by Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti, as a “strengthening of the Ferrari Challenge’s global coverage”.
Four rounds are scheduled: 11 and 12 December 2026 at Bahrain International Circuit; 9 and 10 January 2027 at Lusail International Circuit in Qatar; 29 and 30 January in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; and finally 20 and 21 March in Abu Dhabi at Yas Marina Circuit.
“The calendar we have devised,” said Andrea Mladosic, Head of Ferrari Challenge and Corso Pilota, “is extremely interesting and will be preceded by an engaging ‘prologue’ during the Ferrari Racing Days, scheduled to take place in Qatar in February 2026.” This event will mark the first official outing of the 296 Challenge cars of the season.
