Dividing their time between the United States and Europe, father and son, Alberto and Rafael Duran, have led a nomadic life but feel at home in Spain. We caught up with them at their home circuit in Barcelona during the sixth round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe to hear about their experience competing in the Prancing Horse’s one-make series and driving the 296 Challenge.

Alberto, who races in the Coppa Shell Am class, reflected on his son Rafael’s early days in karting. Rafael now competes in the Trofeo Pirelli Am, pursuing the dream that first ignited his passion: driving a Ferrari. That dream is now a reality for the Duran family, who share the experience on track as well as in the paddock, as they look forward to the upcoming rounds at Spa-Francorchamps and the Finali Mondiali in October at Mugello.
