Weekend preview: Ferrari lines up for Asian Le Mans Series
The 2025–2026 Asian Le Mans Series kicks off at Sepang, Malaysia, with twenty-two crews entered in the GT class, including six behind the wheel of Ferrari 296 GT3s and three Prancing Horse official drivers. Additionally, four more cars from Maranello will race in the Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi.
Asian Le Mans Series. The Sepang International Circuit hosts the opening event, which features two four-hour races. The other rounds will be in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, for a total of four races between late January and early February 2026.
AF Corse will field two Ferraris in Malaysia: the number 21, piloted by official driver Alessio Rovera along with Simon Mann and Britain’s Darren Leung, and the number 51, with fellow official driver Davide Rigon joined by Charly Samani and Sean Gelael.
Newly crowned FIA WEC World Champion Alessandro Pier Guidi will race the number 54 296 GT3 for Vista AF Corse, sharing the car with Thomas Flohr and Francesco Castellacci.
Kessel Racing will field two cars: the number 15, driven by Alessandro Balzan with Americans Memo Gidley and Dylan Medler, who competes in both the Ferrari Challenge North America and Europe. Dustin Scott Blattner, Chris Lulham and Dennis Marschall will share the number 74.
The number 50 296 GT3, entered by the Thai team Amerasian Fragrance by AF Racing, will also feature an Italian–American crew: Gregory Slatan Bennett and Carl Wattana Bennett will be joined by Tommaso Mosca.
Qualifying for GT Race-1 is on Saturday, 13 December at 9.30 a.m., with the green flag for the first of the two four-hour races at 1 p.m. The second race on Sunday 14th will follow the same schedule.
Gulf 12 Hours. The traditional end-of-year endurance event at Yas Marina will feature a 12-hour race split into two segments: an initial eight-hour stint followed by a final four-hour run. Four Ferraris will hit the track: Lisa Clark, Marc Muzzo, Kyle Marcelli, and Jeffrey Westphal will share driving duties in the number 27 296 GT3 of Pellin Racing. Brendan Iribe, Frederik Schandorff, and Ollie Millroy will crew the number 70 car from Inception Racing. AIManar by Dragon will field the number 77 with Al Faisal Al Zubair, Ben Tuck and Chris Frogatt, while the number 88 entered by DFYNE by Dragon will be driven by Oscar Lee Ryndziewicz, Giacomo Altoè and Giovanni Altoè.
The qualifying sessions will be held on Saturday 13 December starting at 6 p.m., while the first eight-hour segment of the race will begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday 14 December. After a two-hour break from 5 p.m., the starting grid will reform at 7 p.m. for the final four-hour stint.
