Challenging free practice sessions for Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3s

Sakhir 06 November 2025

The Bahrain International Circuit hosts the eighth and final round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship – the 8 Hours of Bahrain – this weekend.

Vista AF Corse will field two Ferrari 296 LMGT3s for the final round of the season, with official drivers Alessio Rovera and Davide Rigon in the number 21 and number 54 cars, respectively.

The opening laps in Free Practice 1 and 2 provided a valuable testing ground for both crews. The first session, held with track temperatures ranging from 28°C to 34°C, proved particularly demanding due to variable grip, an abrasive surface and the presence of sand on the circuit. The second session, run in slightly cooler conditions, enabled the teams to gather more representative data ahead of the race.

In the run-up to the final round, the number 21 Ferrari, crewed by François Hériau, Simon Mann and Alessio Rovera, is second in the drivers’ standings on 94 points, 11 behind the leaders. The number 54 Ferrari, driven by Thomas Flohr, Francesco Castellacci and Davide Rigon, is in seventh place with 54 points.

Free Practice 1. The first session took place at 12:15 p.m. (local time). The number 54 Ferrari posted the fourteenth-fastest time in the LMGT3 class with a 2’04”905, while the number 21 Ferrari finished eighteenth with a 2’06”236.

Free Practice 2. The second session, held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., saw cooler conditions more like those expected during the race. The number 21 Ferrari recorded the eighth-fastest time with a 2’04”170, while the number 54 Ferrari posted the thirteenth-fastest with a 2’04”611.

Programme. Free Practice 3 will take place on Friday, 7 November, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. (local time), providing one final hour of preparation before qualifying, scheduled from 4:00 to 4:12 p.m., followed by the Hyperpole from 4:20 to 4:30 p.m.

The two Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3s will continue their preparations ahead of the 8 Hours of Bahrain, to be held on Saturday, 8 November from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. local time at the Sakhir circuit.
