Drivers’ reactions after qualifying at Fuji
The two Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3 cars will start from the fourth and fifth rows of the grid for the seventh and penultimate round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the 6 Hours of Fuji. The #54 Ferrari of Thomas Flohr, Francesco Castellacci and factory driver Davide Rigon – winner of the last two editions in Japan – will line up eighth, while the #21 car of François Heriau, Simon Mann and fellow factory driver Alessio Rovera will start from tenth.
Francesco Castellacci, 296 LMGT3 #54:
“We will start the race from eighth place, which is a good position – the same from which we won here last year. Our car is very efficient when it comes to tyre management, and if we can avoid mistakes, we have the potential to fight for a strong result, similar to what we achieved in Austin.”
Simon Mann, 296 LMGT3 #21:
“It wasn’t a perfect qualifying session, but the car is competitive in terms of race pace. The goal is to capitalize on our strengths compared to our championship rivals and bring home the best possible result.”
