Ferrari to line up at FIA GT World Cup in Macau with three 296 GT3s

Maranello 12 October 2025

Ferrari will take centre stage at the FIA GT World Cup in Macau, which runs from 13 to 16 November at the legendary Circuito da Guia, with three 296 GT3s entered by Harmony Racing and AF Corse. The event is among the most prestigious on the international GT calendar, presenting a unique challenge for drivers and manufacturers on one of the world’s most demanding street circuits.

Harmony Racing. Harmony Racing will field two Ferrari 296 GT3s, both driven by Chinese competitors. Yifei Ye, a Ferrari official driver and 24 Hours of Le Mans winner with the 499P, returns to the circuit for his second race with the 296 GT3. A leading contender in the FIA WEC, and fresh from his GT World Challenge Asia debut at Okayama, Ye will return to China for the upcoming race on the Beijing street circuit – the perfect warm-up for the Macau showcase.

The Chinese team’s second Ferrari, the number 37 officially fielded with the colors of Winhere Racing, will be driven by Yi Deng, who already knows the challenges of the Circuito da Guia but will take them on for the first time in a GT3 car, having raced a GT4 in last year’s edition.

AF Corse. AF Corse will field the third Ferrari 296, with Antonio Fuoco at the wheel. After narrowly missing out on victory in last year’s GT World Cup, Fuoco returns to Macau aiming once again to be among the frontrunners. The race holds added significance for the Italian, marking ten years since his first appearance at the Circuito da Guia in Formula 3.

Prestige. Now in its 72nd edition, the Macau Grand Prix is widely regarded as the “World Cup” for GT3 cars. The 6.2-kilometre street circuit, featuring iconic corners such as Lisboa and the famously tight Hairpin – just seven metres wide – combines ultra-fast straights with highly technical sections, making overtaking almost impossible. Victory in Macau is a byword for prestige, with a format comprising qualifying, a qualification race, and the Main Race on Sunday, 16 November.

New features. Building on experience from the 2024 edition, the FIA has introduced two innovations designed to further emphasise driver performance and ensure strict adherence to Balance of Performance regulations. For the first time, the traditional 30-minute qualifying session will be followed by a Super Pole shootout reserved for the ten fastest drivers, each given two flying laps on an extra set of new tyres. This new format reduces the impact of red flags and traffic, offering drivers a clearer chance to demonstrate their full potential.

The FIA has also mandated the use of torque sensors fitted to the driveshafts, following extensive consultation with GT3 manufacturers. These devices accurately measure wheel power, ensuring the output remains within the Balance of Performance limits and is unaffected by external factors such as weather.
