Drivers’ comments after the Daytona 24 Hours
The 64th edition of the Daytona 24 Hours, the opening race of the IMSA SportsCar Championship, which marked the track debut of the Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, ended with the number 033 crew entered by Triarsi Competizione finishing eighth in the GTD Pro class. In the GTD class, AF Corse USA's Ferrari number 21 finished fifth, Triarsi Competizione's number 023 seventh, and Inception Racing and Conquest Racing's cars 13th and 14th, respectively.
Alessio Rovera, 296 GT3 Evo #033: “The race was really tough and, as we knew from the previous days, we couldn't hope for a great result. However, we leave Daytona on a very positive note regarding the new 296 GT3 Evo. The car proved to be extremely reliable and we had no mechanical problems, which we are happy and proud of.”
Antonio Fuoco, 296 GT3 Evo #21: “We tried everything we could to compete for the best possible result, but what we achieved was the best we could do. I would like to thank the whole team.”
Tommaso Mosca, 296 GT3 Evo #21: “I leave Florida happy to have raced my first race as a Ferrari factory driver and to have participated in the 24 Hours of Daytona for the first time. I'm not very satisfied with the result in the race, but I congratulate both my teammates and the whole team for their work. We all did our best, but we couldn't do any better than this fifth-place finish.”
Lilou Wadoux, 296 GT3 Evo #21: “I am satisfied to have completed my first 24 Hours of Daytona and with the reliability demonstrated by the new 296 GT3 Evo, which we debuted in such a complex race as this. Unfortunately, we couldn't aim for the podium, but we scored important points for the championship standings.”
Simon Mann, 296 GT3 Evo #21: “It was a difficult race for us. I congratulate the whole team, who tried their best here at Daytona.”
Kenton Koch, 296 GT3 Evo 023: “The team did awesome and overcame a couple of racing incidents that put us a lap down. In the end, we were able to race our way back to seventh and be on the lead lap after an eventful 24 hours.”
Onofrio Triarsi, 296 GT3 Evo 023: “I’m extremely proud of the team. From the management side, they did a fantastic job putting everybody together. The engineers did fantastic, the crew for 24 hours didn’t make one mistake. Debuting the Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, it was a fantastic first outing for us and we’re grateful for the support we’ve received from Ferrari”.
Albert Costa, 296 GT3 Evo #34: “The car was amazing to drive. We weren’t the quickest on the straights, but in the infield, we had a very strong car and that made a great balance because we were in the fight all the time. A big thank you to everyone on the team.”
Ollie Millroy, 296 GT3 Evo #70: “It was great to be back for my 5th 24 Hours of Daytona with Inception Racing and my second with Ferrari. Unfortunately we just didn’t have the pace in the race to fight at the front and once we lost a lap during the night with an issue in the pits, we never managed to make it back. Nevertheless, the whole team and Ferrari did a fantastic job to get us to the end of this tough race.”
