Ferrari 296 GT3 Evos at the finish line of the 2026 Daytona 24 Hours

Daytona 25 January 2026

The Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo finished the 2026 24 Hours of Daytona in eighth position in the GTD Pro class, fielded by the number 033 shared by Ferrari official drivers Alessio Rovera, Miguel Molina and James Calado, together with Riccardo Agostini. The best finish in GTD, meanwhile, was fifth place for the number 21 crew made up of factory drivers Antonio Fuoco, Lilou Wadoux and Tommaso Mosca, joined by Simon Mann.

296 GT3 Evo. As expected before the race, the opening round of the 2026 IMSA SportsCar Championship proved to be a tough one for the Maranello cars. Making its competitive debut, the 296 GT3 Evo showed excellent reliability, with five of six crews crossing the finish line. The drivers and teams showed their potential to the fullest at Daytona, even though they were unable to aim for top positions.

The race. The 64th edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona was marked by the longest neutralisation in the history of the American endurance race, lasting six hours and 33 minutes, due to fog caused by high humidity.

GTD Pro. Triarsi Competizione's Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo number 033 tried to break into the mid-to-high positions, especially in the first part of the race. But despite the long Full Course Yellow phase, the team did not remain in contention for that result, as became clear in the final and decisive hours.

The other Ferrari in the same class, the number 62 car of Risi Competizione – entered with the three official Ferrari drivers Davide Rigon, Daniel Serra and Alessandro Pier Guidi – had an unfortunate race, forced to retire due to a collision in the third hour.

GTD. The number 21 296 GT3 Evo of AF Corse USA was in the spotlight for a long time. Thanks to excellent stints by the drivers – including Tommaso Mosca, making his debut as a Prancing Horse factory driver – and the crew, the team managed to move up to the top positions especially in the middle phase. However, they could not go beyond fifth place at the end of the 661 laps.

The Triarsi Competizione 296 GT3 Evo number 023 finished seventh, driven by official driver Yifei Ye – winner of the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans with the 499P number 83 – together with Onofrio Triarsi, Kenton Koch, and Robert Megennis.

Outside the top 10 was the number 70 Ferrari of Inception Racing, shared by Frederik Schandorff, Brendan Iribe, Ollie Millroy and David Fumanelli, and the number 34 of Conquest Racing – with Manny Franco, Albert Costa, Lorenzo Patrese and Thierry Vermeulen, finishing 13th and 14th respectively.

The championship. The IMSA SportsCar Championship and IMSA Endurance Cup will return to the spotlight at the 12 Hours of Sebring (18-21 March), followed by events at Watkins Glen (25-28 June), Road America (30 July-2 August) and Road Atlanta (1-3 October).
