Five Ferraris remain in the race at Daytona after lengthy fog delay

Daytona 25 January 2026

Five Ferraris survived a six-hour, 33-minute caution for heavy fog in the overnight hours, racing to the finish at the 24 Hours of Daytona, where there are four hours left on the clock before the chequered flag.

The caution flag waved at 12:45 a.m. due to rapidly decreasing visibility. The field then followed the pace car throughout the night before the fog finally lifted.

GTD Pro. Making its first foray into GTD Pro, Triarsi Competizione led the Ferrari contingent with factory drivers Alessio Rovera, Miguel Molina and James Calado joined by Riccardo Agostini. The car placed as high as second during the early hours of the race. At the restart, their number 033 Ferrari 296 GT3 was 10th in class. The Risi Competizione Ferrari number 62, on the other hand, was forced to retire early on following damage sustained in contact with number 033.

GTD. Ferrari factory driver Lilou Wadoux led the GTD class in the No. 21 AF Corse USA Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo when the fog lifted at daybreak. The car shared by Simon Mann and factory drivers Wadoux, Antonio Fuoco and Tommaso Mosca led the GTD class for 43 laps during the first half of the race, and added 25 laps during the caution and restart.

Both Conquest Racing – with Manny Franco, Albert Costa, Lorenzo Patrese and Thierry Vermeulen – and Inception Racing – with Frederik Schandorff, Brendan Iribe, Ollie Millroy and David Fumanelli – also have led laps in the first half of the race, earning valuable points towards the IMSA Endurance Cup.

Both cars were running in the top-15 at the 18-hour mark, in addition to Triarsi Competizione’s number 023 driven by team Onofrio Triarsi, Kenton Koch, Robert Megennis and the Ferrari factory driver Yifei Ye.

The race will take the checkered flag at 1:40 p.m. ET.
