Drivers’ comments after qualifying at São Paulo
The two Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3s posted the 11th and 15th fastest times in qualifying for round five of the FIA WEC. The number 54 car, driven by Thomas Flohr, Francesco Castellacci, and Davide Rigon, will line up on the sixth row, while the “sister” number 21 car of François Heriau, Simon Mann, and Alessio Rovera starts on the eighth. The green flag will wave at Interlagos at 11.30 a.m. local time on Sunday, 13 July.
Thomas Flohr, 296 LMGT3 #54: “The car was excellent in terms of setup, and I did a perfect lap, but in the end, there wasn’t much more we could do. We missed Hyperpole by just two-hundredths of a second. It will be a long race, and I hope we can make up some positions.”
François Heriau, 296 LMGT3 #21: “It wasn’t an easy qualifying session, but in the end, I put in the best lap I could. Fifteenth place is certainly not where we’d like to be, but there wasn’t much more we could do today. Now we look ahead to the race relatively confident, given that our main championship rivals are not much further ahead.”
