Driver comments from Interlagos

São Paulo 16 July 2025

The Ferrari 296 LMGT3s leave Brazil with 11th and 13th places for the Vista AF Corse number 54 and 21 crews. Here are the drivers’ comments following the 6 Hours of São Paulo, round five of the 2025 FIA WEC.

Davide Rigon, 296 LMGT3 #54: “It was a tough race, where we made very few mistakes but didn’t manage to recover. Generally speaking, we suffered here at Interlagos in terms of pace, and the absence of the safety car, which could have mixed things up, prevented us from making up for lost time. The whole team put in the best possible performance, but unfortunately that was the most we could do.”

Alessio Rovera, 296 LMGT3 #21: “We had 46 kg of ballast after the win in Spa and second place in the championship, so we were expecting some trouble. Our direct rivals picked up points, but we’re still close, so we’re looking to the next event in Austin with confidence.”

Francesco Castellacci, 296 LMGT3 #54: “We narrowly missed out on the top 10 in qualifying and finished in the same position in the race, failing to score any points. The balance was excellent, though, and we all managed to maintain a good pace in the race, but we were never able to fight for the top positions. I would like to thank the whole team for their hard work. Now we are focusing on Austin, where we hope to return to the competitive form we showed up to Le Mans.”

Simon Mann, 296 LMGT3 #21: “It was a difficult race, we didn't have the speed to fight at the front, but we gave our all as a team. We will continue to do our best with the same philosophy in Austin. The season has been positive so far and we are fighting for the title, my teammates and the whole team are doing a great job as usual.”
