Driver comments after Hyperpole at Le Mans

Le Mans 12 June 2025

On Thursday evening the two Hyperpole sessions took place, determining the starting grid for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will see the green flag on Saturday 14 June at 4pm (local time) on the Circuit de la Sarthe.
The best of the three 296 LMGT3s that qualified in the two Hyperpole sessions is number 21, driven by Ferrari factory driver Alessio Rovera, who set the second fastest time and will start from the front row. After Wednesday's qualifying, which saw François Heriau secure a place among the top twelve, Simon Mann set the sixth fastest time in Hyperpole 1, earning him a place in the decisive session.

Alessio Rovera, Vista AF Corse #21: “Starting from second is a great result for a 24-hour race. As I mentioned to the team over the radio, I can confidently say we entered Hyperpole with the best car of the weekend. It was extremely competitive. For this, I would like to thank all the guys and the engineers. I'm proud of the work they've done. Thanks also to my teammates, François and Simon, who set some fantastic lap times in their sessions. I just tried to give it everything in Hyperpole. It’s a 24-hour race, and anything can happen.”

Simon Mann, Vista AF Corse #21: “It's a wonderful day. The team did an excellent job. It’s a long race, so starting from pole isn’t crucial. Second place is still a fantastic result. We are competitive, so we’ll do our best.”
