Yates and Dewhirst crowned UK series champions

Maranello 30 September 2025

From the winds of Navarra in Spain to the unusual summer heat of Oulton Park and Brands Hatch, with stops at Donington and the iconic “temple” of Silverstone, it has been a thrilling season for the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli UK. And it was Silverstone – the historic home of British motorsport and the oldest circuit in the United Kingdom – that saw the crowning of the 2025 champions: Gilbert Yates (Charles Hurst) in the Trofeo Pirelli, and Mike Dewhirst (Dick Lovett Swindon) in the Coppa Shell.

Yates successfully defended his 2024 title, finishing the season with 171 points after a dominant campaign. His stats speak for themselves, with nine wins out of ten races and ten pole positions in ten attempts. His closest competitor was Pranav Vangala (HR Owen), who finished second with 129 points after winning once and earning nine runner-up finishes, all behind Yates. Paul Simmerson (Graypaul Birmingham) was third with 105 points, having contested the first two race weekends of the Coppa Shell before moving up a class.

In the Coppa Shell, Mike Dewhirst won his first championship title with 158 points, after six wins and four second-place finishes. Second place went to Peter Hunter (Stratstone Manchester), who finished with 126 points, including three wins and six podium finishes (four times second and twice third). Veteran Paul Rogers (HR Owen) rounded out the championship podium in third place with 83 points.

The 2025 season also marked the debut of the 296 Challenge – the ninth model in the history of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli – in the UK series.

The Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli UK 2026 calendar was announced at Silverstone. The season will start from France at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, from 12 to 15 March 2026, alongside the European series. It will then move to the United Kingdom at Snetterton (2–3 May), followed by Silverstone (22–24 May), before heading north to Oulton Park (26–27 June). Before the summer break, the Ferrari Challenge UK will feature a leg at Brands Hatch (24–26 July), with the grand finale scheduled for Donington (19–20 September).
