Formula 2: Beganovic back on track in Qatar

Maranello 26 November 2025

After a nine week break, Formula 2 is back in action this weekend at the Lusail circuit. For Dino Beganovic, this is a return to the track where he made his debut in the category 12 months ago.

It’s time for the Formula 2 cars to fire up their engines. Nine weeks on from the previous round, the action resumes at the Lusail circuit. It’s a busy final rush as the Qatar round is followed one week later by the season finale at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina circuit.

Good to go again. The previous round took place in Baku and it went well for Dino Beganovic with a win in the Sprint Race and a third in the Feature Race. “I’m really pleased to go racing again,” admitted Dino. “It’s been a long time since the last race, too long in fact. During the break, I kept as busy as possible to maintain concentration after Baku. I can’t wait to get my race suit and helmet on and get into the groove again for the final Formula 2 weekend.”

Back to where it started. It will be special for Dino to set foot on the Lusail circuit again, as it was here one year ago that he made his Formula 2 debut, enjoying an excellent start, with a fifth place finish. “This will be the first time I will be on a track where I have already raced this car before,” he explained. “A bit of experience is always useful especially as we always have just the one free practice session. I have set myself the target of finishing the season in style.”

Programme. The Lusail weekend gets underway with a 45 minute free practice session Friday, starting at 14.045 local (12.05 CET), followed at 19.10 (17.10 CET) by qualifying. The 23 lap Sprint Race is on Saturday at 19.20 (17.20 CET) with the Feature Race getting underway on Sunday at 15.00 (13.00 CET) over a distance of 32 laps.
