Shell Ferrari Historic Race
2009 saw the end of the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge, the long running series for historic Ferrari, but a new initiative aimed at those who competed in this championship has seen a broader based event allowing owners to take part in the Shell Ferrari Historic Race, at the World Finals, the event which brings the curtain down on the Corse Clienti racing season.
This event highlights the importance attached by the company to the fourteen seasons during which this spectacular one make series was run and the enthusiasts of the marque who intend to take to the track for this new event. Only Ferraris can take part and the owners must be in possession of a Certificate of Authenticity or an Attestation that it is a Car of Historic Interest, as well as having a FIA Technical Passport (HTP).
Also eligible are car designed for road use, which were later used for racing at the time that they were commercially available. This has to be backed up by documentation proving they were used for competition. Also admitted are cars not specifically built for racing that, in their day, received the relevant C.S.A.I. homologation document allowing them to race. Such cars must be in their original configuration, with the exception of modifications required to comply with FIA safety requirements. Eligible cars will be divided into various categories, but will compete against one another in a single grid.
