Maranello, 17 October- The final round of the Italian GT Championship last weekend at Monza saw a fine performance from Alberto Radaelli and Stefano Gai, who dominated both races at the wheel of the AF Corse Ferrari. On their debut behind the wheel of the 458 Italia GT2, the drivers were very quick right from free practice on Friday, scoring a splendid GT2 win in Race 1, doing the same on Sunday afternoon, in the second and final leg.
Adriano Baso and Marco Cioci did equally well in the Italian team’s 458 Italia GT3 car. In their second event of the season, the AF Corse drivers showed right from the start that that had what it takes to fight at the front: in Race 1 they took their GT3 to seventh overall, while in Race 2, Baso and Cioci took the chequered flag in sixth place overall.
Stefano Gai, a past champion in the Italian series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, will be back on track in the 458 Challenge run by Rossocorsa at the Finali Mondiali Ferrari, which takes place at Mugello, starting on 3 November: entrants in all four of Ferrari’s one-make series will be fighting it out for the world title.
