Maranello, 24 September – the JMW Motorsport Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 took pole position in the LM GTE PRO category in a time of 1.39.176 for the Estoril 6 Hours, the fifth and final round of the Le Mans Series. Second were the newly crowned champions of the prestigious European championship, Bruni and Fisichella, at the wheel of the AF Corse Ferrari 458 in a time of 1.39.233. At Silverstone, the Italian team had taken Ferrari to the Constructors’ title and here they were quicker than the Team Felbermayr-Proton Porsche, which lines up third on the GT grid. In the LM GTE AM class, an excellent showing from Perazzini-Cioci-Lemeret, second fastest in the AF Corse F430 GTC, behind the IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche, crewed by Armindo-Narac, who currently lead the classification. The six hour endurance race runs from 13.00 to 19.00 tomorrow.
