Mugello, (Scarperia) 23 September – Today at the Mugello circuit, the penultimate round of the Italian Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli got underway. Drivers had a two hour test session to try out their cars on the Tuscan track, before the competitive part of the weekend, the last round of the series prior to the World Finals on 6 November. Drivers in the Ferrari one-make series were immediately impressed with the new surface laid down in early spring, helping them to get the most out of their cars, especially the 458 Challenge, designed by Ferrari to give its owner-drivers the very highest levels of performance and driving pleasure. There is also something new for spectators in the shape of a new central 4500 seater covered grandstand on the main straight and the Biondetti corners. Matteo Malucelli (Motor/Malucelli) was fastest in practice today (1.55.342), while of the Coppa Shell runners, the best time (1.57.378) was set by the crew of Renato e Daniele Di Amato (CDP). The quickest lap for the F430 drivers went to Giovanni Cappelletti (Rossocorsa/Pellin). The two races take place on Sunday at 9.25 and 14.25 and will be shown on SKY. Race 1 will be repeated on 26 September at 11.00 and 21.30 and on Sky Sport 2, while the second race will be shown on 26 September at 22.15 and on the 27 at 11 on Sky Sport 2.
