In qualifying, the Risi Competizione Ferrari took fifth place on the GT grid in a very closely contested session. The Houston based team’s 458 Italia GT2, crewed by Toni Vilander and Jaime Melo lapped in 1.17.545, which was just under half a second under the pole time set by Dirk Mueller’s BMW. Fourth fastest was the Extreme Speed Motorsports Ferrari of Scott Sharp and Johannes van Overbeek, with the team’s other car, twelfth courtesy of Guy Brown-Ed Cosmo (1.21.051.) Toni Vilander was a bit disappointed with the result: “I expected to be third quickest, but we got caught in traffic,” he said. “But the car is going very well and I hope that means we can go for the race win.” The race gets underway this afternoon at 15.05 local time and runs for two hours and 45 minutes,
