Maranello, 18 October – The sixth and final round of the Spanish GT Championship took place this last weekend at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit.
The two Ferraris run by the Portuguese ART team took the title thanks to a one-two finish from the crews of Juan Manuel Lopez – Manuel Giao and Franciso Cruz Martins, now outright champion of the Iberian series. The amazing duo who pick up the “Super GT” title, were victorious in both legs, on Saturday ahead of the Porsche 911s of Gianluca Roda-Raffaele Giammaria and Miguel Amaral-Miguel Angel de Castro, then in yesterday’s final race beating the other F430 of Alvaro Parente-Franciso Cruz Martins on the Spanish track.
Third overall went to Alvaro Parente, who, because of his absence from the Estoril round, was unable to share the title with his team-mate and reigning champion, Francisco Cruz Martins.
