Marciello runner-up in the Zandvoort Masters

Maranello, 15 July – Raffaele Marciello made it to the second step of the podium in the 22nd running of the Masters of Zandvoort, a classic event on the Formula 3 calendar. This year it did not count for either the F3 Euro Series or the FIA European F3 Championship. The Ferrari Driver Academy youngster skilfully got past Carlos Sainz Jnr (Carlin) at the start and at first was able to match the pace of team-mate Daniel Juncadella (Prema) who won the race by over seven seconds to give the team run by Angelo Rosin a one-two. The runner-up spot is an important result for the Ferrari Driver Academy student, in his first event on the difficult Zandvoort circuit.

Marciello will be back in action with the rest of the Formula 3 continental circus in two weeks time, at Spa-Francorchamps for an event that is also a counter for the FIA European F3 Championship.
