Montezemolo: “Mugello is at the cutting edge on the world stage”
Maranello, 11 July – There are just a few hours to go until the Mugello circuit hosts its most important event of the year, the Italian MotoGP meeting. The Ferrari-owned track is ready to welcome the two-wheeled World Championship circus and the tens of thousands of fans who always flock to this track in Tuscany from all over the world to support Valentino Rossi and his motorcycling colleagues.
“The Italian motorcycle Grand Prix is an essential part of the Italian motorsport calendar,” declared President Luca di Montezemolo, speaking to www.ferrari.com. “Mugello has always been a demanding and spectacular track for those who tackle it, be they on two or four wheels, but it is also now recognised as being one of the most cutting edge facilities in the world, from every point of view. This year, it also witnessed the return of Formula 1 with a test session, which drew a big crowd and was much appreciated by all the teams. It would be a dream come true to one day also see a Formula 1 World Championship race take place at Mugello…”
The facilities at the Tuscan circuit were renovated last year, including building a grandstand on the main straight, from which spectators can see a good part of the track. The traffic management plan for entering and leaving the circuit has been updated for this weekend, which is important for an event of this status.
