British GP - An “Olympic” visit

Silverstone, 8 July – With less than twenty days to go to the start of the Olympic Games in London, the President of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge, was at Silverstone in the paddock, a few hours before the start of the British Grand Prix. He visited the Scuderia Ferrari garage, along with Bernie Ecclestone, where the Belgian IOC boss met team principal Stefano Domenicali and Fernando Alonso, while the Spaniard was in the cockpit of his F2012, making final preparations for the race. Before continuing his visit, along with his wife Anne, Rogge, who has been in charge at the IOC since July 2001, posed for a photo in the Scuderia pits, showing great interest in the workings of the race car and the work of the mechanics and engineers, prior to the race.
