FDA – Marciello the rain master at the Norisring

7.1.2012
Maranello, 1 July – Raffaele Marcielli ended his Norisring weekend with a win, his seventh of the season in the competitive F3 Euro Series. The race had to be stopped before full distance as the track conditions were deemed too dangerous, because of heavy rain. The red flag came out on lap 22, which means only half-points have been assigned, as the required 75% distance had not been completed. After the German weekend, Marciello on 116.5 points, has closed the gap to the championship leader, his team-mate Juncadela, who has 122, to just 6.5 points. However, in the FIA European F3 Championship, which runs concurrently, the Ferrari Driver Academy student is still out in front on 149.5. After a summer break, the series will be back on track at the Nurburgring from 17 to 19 August.
