FDA – A setback for Marciello at Spielberg
6.3.2012
Maranello, 3 June – A blank day for Raffaele Marciello, taking part in the last race of three of this weekend’s F3 Euro Series at the Spielberg circuit. After winning Race 1 and coming home ninth in Race 2, Raffaele was left bogged down on the grid for Race 3, having made a mistake at the start, which meant he had to give his all to claw his way back to eighth, with a run of passing moves, the last one getting him ahead of Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) just before the finish.
“A real shame,” commented the head of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Luca Baldisserri. “The pace he showed in the race should have seen him fighting once again for the win. Over the weekend, Raffaele made a few mistakes which have cost him the lead in the championship and it’s important he realises that, if one wants to be a champion, one must perform consistently and never lose concentration.” After this third race, Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam) has retaken the lead in the championship on 109 points, while Marciello has 103.
The next round takes place from 20 June to 1 July at the Norisring street circuit in Germany.
