Ferrari and the Shanghai Expo reach an agreement for a permanent Ferrari display

Maranello, 19 October - Today Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo and Shanghai Expo Development Group President Ding Hao signed a three-year agreement regarding the permanent presence of Ferrari in a large exhibition area inside the Italian Expo hall.

After the success of the Italian area at the Expo and in particular of the Ferrari stand where the HY-KERS - Ferrari's first model with hybrid technology - was displayed, the new exhibition area will enable visitors to admire models and other intersting artefacts representing the past, the present and the future of Ferrari.

During the signing ceremony Luca di Montezemolo thanked Ding Hao and the entire delegation who had pushed to have the presence of Ferrari. "We are very pleased," Montezemolo said, "to have the possibility to present Ferrari to the Chinese public. This permanent exhibition further strengthens the connection beteween Ferrari and China, where we have been officially present since 2004, but where we already sold the very first car in 1992. A commercial success with a continuously growing market, which by the end of the year will be the second biggest after the USA. Passion and attention is dedicated to us also by our numerous Formula 1 fans, who have been supporting us since the first edition of the Chinese Grand Prix, which was won by the Scuderia on the Shanghai circuit in 2004. Ferrari wants to make even better known its culture, its values, its advanced technology, style and design in a country where these characteristics are more and more appreciated."

Meanwhile President Ding Hao underlined that "it is a great pleasure and it makes us proud that we have Ferrari with us. A recent survey showed that almost all of the people surveyed were ready to visit the Italian stand if it is assured that Ferrari will be present. This confirms how much the Prancing Horse is loved in China. After my short visit today I was able to understand even better what the company stands for - its values and its tradition of technology and innovation, but first and foremost its teamwork. I hope that Ferrari will work with us in a team for the overall success of this initiative."

After the signing and exchanging of gifts the Ferrari Chairman also presented his guest with a red tie with the Prancing Horse, which was immediately worn with pride.

The Ferrari exposition at the Italian hall in Shanghai will be inaugurated in March 2012.
