Ferrari President at the centenary of the Italo-German Chamber of Commerce

Frankfurt, 17 November – Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo was the guest of honour today in Frankfurt at a conference entitled “Italy innovates and enchants,” held to mark one hundred years of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Germany.

In his address, Montezemolo underlined the importance of the role of this body and those institutions that raise awareness of Italian excellence abroad. “We are convinced that Italy has the necessary skills to take on an important role in Europe to promote its excellence,” he said. “Our brands are highly rated in other countries and this is down to commitment, hard work and traditional skills, all qualities which typify Italian excellence. We are a great country and, after Germany, we are the country with the strongest industrial tradition.”

Gemany has historically been an important and very strong market for Ferrari and the ties that link this country and the Maranello marque, which in 2011 is actually delivering record economic results, both in terms of turnover and car deliveries, are very close. Germany has always been Ferrari’s number one market in Europe, in a country that boasts many owners and collectors, who are always enthusiastic about the new models that Ferrari has introduced. Another important link between Ferrari and Germany is Michael Schumacher, the German champion who was and always will be one of the main players in the long history of the Scuderia.
