Maranello, 12 December – The Ferrari Driver Academy continues to extend its area of operation, as it seeks to promote young talent in international motor sport. After recently joining forces with the Asian series seen as a stepping stone to Formula 3 and GP3 for drivers coming from karting or junior formulae, the latest move sees the Ferrari Academy officially support the Panam GP Series championship, which gets underway on 5th May next year at Puebla in Mexico. The “Panam GP Series – Supported by FDA” will feature a calendar with several events, covering the main countries of Central and South America, including Venezuela, with an event in October at the San Carlos Circuit. The top finishers in this championship will get the opportunity to work with the FDA engineers.
“Among its key principals, our programme aims to promote motor sport all over the world”- explained Luca Baldisserri, who was in Venezuela recently to promote the series and meet youngsters competing in the local Kart championship- “ I am proud therefore that the Academy will be supporting this series which as of today, benefits from a new round in Venezuela, a country with an engrained racing culture which should be appreciated and supported”
