Maranello, 4 September – Two months after the previous round of the World Series Renault, at the Hungaroring, the young talent from the Ferrari Driver Academy, Daniel Zampieri was back in action today at the famous Hockenheim track, for the fifth round of the season.

The first of two races this weekend was won from pole by Daniel Ricciardo (Tech 1 Racing) but also featured an excellent performance from Zampieri (Pons Racing,) who finished fourth overall and second best rookie. The Ferrari Driver academy student came very close to taking the final spot on the podium, harrying third placed Jon Lancaster (Fortec Motorsport) for much of the race, before on the last lap, settling for staying ahead in his battle with Mikhail Aleshin (Carlin), who came home behind him.

Zampieri will be back in action in the World Series for the second and final race at 13.30 tomorrow.
