Spa-Francorchamps, 29 August – Lewis Hamilton won the Belgian Grand Prix, the thirteenth round of the World Championship which has just ended on the historic Spa-Francorchamps circuit. The Englishman in the McLaren finished ahead of Mark Webber in the Red Bull and Robert Kubica in the Renault. Felipe Massa brought his Ferrari home in fourth place, while in the other F10, Fernando Alonso’s race ended early, after he staged a fantastic fight up the field, having bit been hit by Rubens Barrichello’s Williams in the opening stages. Unfortunately, he then lost control of his car, which got stuck on the kerbs, with just seven laps remaining.

The next round of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Italian Grand Prix, takes place at Monza over the weekend of 12 September.
